Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
We here at The Spiked Ball and the KUBBL hope all of you had a very merry Christmas and will be enjoying a safe and happy new year. We hope to be starting our next season of the KUBBL within the first month of 2014. What will the new year bring? Hopefully the dice will start hitting the table shortly.

Crickets
Every year this happens. A great season of the KUBBL wraps-up and we all take a breath. At least one time a year that breath becomes a nap. ZZZzzzz. Shh, don't wake the baby. We are in full on sleep mode. It has been almost one month since we have even played a game of Street Bowl, let alone proper Blood Bowl.
What's a Blood Bowl junkie to do with all this down time? The answer... Tournament prep! The KUBBL will be invading Jingle Bowl II! Currently three members are confirmed to be attending and a fourth is a strong possibility. Jingle Bowl won't be taking place until December 7 but already 36 players have paid!
Jingle Bowl is a holiday themed charity event promoting the spirit of giving. Help for charity and handing out BB beat downs, what could be better? The information for the tournament including rules, location, and giveaways can be found here.
If you aren't able to get to the "Murder Mitten" for this event, we here at The Spiked Ball, would like to encourage everyone who is able to do their part and give what they can. The Blood Bowl committee is a very giving bunch, as there are many charity tournaments throughout the year. Thank you so much to all the tournaments like the Jingle Bowl for giving us a chance to get some BB and giving in.

Streets of Gold
What the?
KUBBL 6 has not commenced yet so some league members have decided to try their hands at the game of Street Ball. This is a Blood Bowl variant that incorporates a smaller, walled pitch, and fewer team members. It is played in an alley and a much higher rate of carnage ensues. The hoi polloi of the Blood Bowl world look down on the game as low brow, but the pace and action is riveting.
Currently, four KUBBL coaches have decided to lead these ragtag street thugs into battle. The Browns (SB) (human) are coached by 4 time KUB Bowl Champion Beaux. The reigning KUB Bowl Champion, Randroid, coaches the Hooded Menace (SB) (undead). Furry also has a KUB Bowl on his resume and will lead the Back Alley Jumpers (SB) (slann). Up and coming coach Max is taking the 333rd St. Greenstowne Lads (SB) (orc) to the streets.
Last night was opening night for KUSBL 1. Three matches were played as the Lads won 2 times. The Jumpers split their games and the Browns lived up to their wasteful monikers and lost both games. These games fly by and are filled with action. We look forward to seeing many more.

Promising
Anyone who has played this game for any length of time knows it's complexities never end. You can think you have the hang of it and then you play against someone who beats you with ease. Then again you can beat a superior coach who's been playing forever. To be honest it can be maddening.
Last night some current KUBBL coaches had a game/teaching session with two new prospective coaches. The games were played against two of the more experienced coach in the league with a floater coach, going between the two. Both of the new coaches took to the game quickly and appeared, not only to gain a solid hold on the basics of the game, but they seemed to enjoy playing.
We are looking forward to these coaches joining the KUBBL if they so choose and we are always on the lookout for new blood.

During the break, some KUBBL coaches will be trying their hands at a Blood Bowl variant, Street Ball. We are excited about giving it a go and are even planning to add it to our winter, regional tournament, The Dog Bowl. Check out, the KUBBL's own, Randroid's Street Ball pitch in progress.

New Coach Training
Some members of the KUBBL will be training some potential new coaches this evening. Hopefully, this strengthens the league. The KUBBL is working toward increasing the talent pool and then starting KUBBL 6. If there are any other interested coaches in the Kalamazoo area get in contact with the league via our website, www.kalamazoo.bloodbowlleague.com, or @TheKUBBL on twitter.

A CHAMPION IS CROWNED!
Monday was host to the epic battle for the KUB Bowl Championship!
62,000 screaming bloodthirsty fans poured into KUBBL stadium for this championship game of CHAOS vs CHAOS (dwarfs). Cantina Killers brought with them a wizard, pair of apothecaries, their own personal halfling chef, and a bloodweiser babe. The kick off went to the Khorne R'Backs and the game was quickly underway.
After getting the kick the Khorne R'Backs seemed a bit frazzled, making a lot of push blocks, and not really living up to their championship potential. An early wizard lightning bolt left the ball open in the KRB backfield and gave Boba Fett the opportunity to score on the KRB return. Unfortunately the centaurs got tripped up in all the excitement and fell on their way to retrieve the ball giving Gorefoul a chance to slip away while the KRB defense whittled away at the Cantina Killers lines with KO and stuns along with a few choice casualties.
The Khorne R'Backs managed to stall out the clock and score on turn 8 of the first half leaving 2 less Cantina Killers on the field with one in the KO box. The Cantina Killers used their one turn to bash the lean line of Beastmen to no avail before receiving the kick in the second half.
On the way to get the ball the Cantina Killers centaurs fell down again and gave the Khorne R'Backs a chance to threaten possession. After retrieving the ball in traffic Bitescum was knocked over by a crazed Jango who looked to take the ball away and score. This was not to be though as Bloodgutter smashed through the defensive line of the Killers to land next to the downed Bitescum and ball and give Bloodred Ma'nn the opportunity to pick up the ball and break away from the defensive line of Cantina Killers.
After several rounds of failed dodging the Dwarves succumbed to the brutal onslaught of the KRB giving them the chance to score on turn 8 of the second half for the 2-0 win.
Team captain Wobbledog was quoted as saying after the game - "It's about f#cking time!!! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!" before taking large bite out of the newest player to join the KRB roster Slipback and thus blessing him with MVP for the championship game.
*Special Thanks to Randroid for the rundown*

The Time is Now!
KUB Bowl 5 is taking place tonight at Fanfare Field between the Khorne Red Backs and The Cantina Killers. These teams met once already this season ending the game in a tie. This one is for all the marbles and must end with a winner. Both teams are effected by the throws of chaos but one will reign supreme.
The KRB are a season three juggernaut with mighty blow and claw all over. All that power cant hide the speed and agility the beastmen bring to the table. The R'Backs started as a raw group of unskilled devotees but have worked their way into a very skilled team.
The Cantina Killers are an upstart group with an accomplished coach who they intend to ride to the title. They wont be afraid to throw multiple players at the R'Backs. No one can avoid the power of KRB so the Killers will try to stand their ground hoping only to lose none essential players.
The pre-season favorites were the Khorne Red Backs so let's see if the predictions are right.

Scandal!
The public relations department for The Cantina Killers released a statement saying, "KILLERS WIN IT ALL!!!!"
How do they know? Who did they bribe? What makes them think they will be beating the preseason favorite, the Khorne Red Backs, enough that they would release this information? Even if this was simply an egregious display of hubris, why would coach Beaux allow this type of bulletin board material? The R'Backs were already foaming at the mouth over getting a follow-up crack at the Killers. Jango Fett and Bossk tasted the wrath of the KRB in week seven, and though they have been replaced, the bounty hunters should realize their high armor won't save them. Now, the evil KRB has extra motivation to slaughter their opponents.
Will Nuffle cast his ire on the brazen Killers? Or, did the Killer PR department know something we don't?
The suspense is building for next Monday's match-up!

The Game is Set!
The semis are done, the tallies are in and the pre-season favorite, Khorne Red Backs, will take on The Cantina Killers for the Championship of KUBBL 5! The R'Backs slammed their way to the victory with a score of 2-1 and a casualty score of 8-1. The Killers beat down the slann winning the casualty count of 5-0 and the score was 3-2 in overtime. Both games were played in inclement weather. A blizzard got in the way of KRB and The Lads and a rain storm effected the other game.
The two teams in the finals together tied in the regular season so it's setting up to be a slobber-knocker. The game features the offensive star of the league and the casualty star on the other side. Both teams are quite strong and do what it takes to win. Research is being done to give a great preview to this game.

KUBBL 5: Playoff Round 1
This week there is no Game of the Week... It's the playoffs, there all important! Let's just get to our playoff betting!
The GrymmLurke Lads travel into the heart of darkness to try their hand at defeating the regular season champion the Khorne Red Backs. The Red Backs will impose their power and underrated offensive abilities to satiate their bloody lord's lust leading to a multi-touchdown victory.
The Khorne Red Backs are 2.5 touchdown favorites over The GrymmLurke Lads
The slann of the Lethal Leap will be hosting The Cantina Killers in our second playoff game. The only way the Leap can take this one is to score in bunches. If The Killers can keep the Leap to 2 touchdowns or less they should be able to take this one.

Here We Go! KUBBL 5 Playoffs
It's that time of year, the KUB Bowl Playoffs are set. The regular season of seven games is over and done and four teams will continue their journeys in the post-season.
The team that owns the number one seed is the Khorne Red Backs. The R'backs finished an undefeated regular season with five wins and two ties. The KRB showed their strength by beating up their opponents to the tune of 37 casualties, 24 more than their nearest competitors. For all their power the chaos have proved an offensive powerhouse as well finishing with the second most TD's of all the teams that made the KUB Bowl Playoffs.
Challenging the R'Backs are the fourth seed in the playoffs, the dark elves of The Grymmlurke Lads. The Lads come into the post-season as the most agile of teams. But don't underestimate their power, these elves are sneaky strong. They finished the regular season with a 3 win, 3 loss, and 1 tie record, featuring a decimation of the two seeded Lethal Leap.
Speaking of the Leap, they have earned the two seed in this seasons playoffs. The Leap were able to win 4 games while losing 1 and tying 2. The froggies scored a league leading 20 touchdowns but need to show improved defensive ability to move on in the playoffs.
The Cantina Killers round out the playoff 4 as the 3 seed and first round opponent of the Leap. The Killers are paced by their outstanding centaur, Boba Fett. Fett paced all scores with 9 touchdowns. The Killers are leaning on the championship pedigree of coach Beaux who leads the KUBBL with four all time titles.
The playoffs will start on Monday as four become two. Here we go!

Chaos Cup 2013
KUBBL 5 has come to a llloooonnnngggg break. Hopefully the regular season will be wrapping up by September 9 then the playoffs can start by the 16th. The Khorne Red Backs deserve the chance to finish-up their undefeated season by bringing coach Randroid his first KUB Bowl Championship.
In the meantime, Randroid will be representing the KUBBL at this weekend's Chaos Cup. He will be playing six rounds of games against coaches from all over the globe. Last years CC was huge and a great time was had by all. This years event should be even bigger. Hopefully, KUBBL will send more representatives in the future.
I'm sure there will be multiple tweets, updates and photos from the event.
Randroid will probably have a post event rundown on his blog, Drinkin' and Modelin'
Check out http://chaoscup.com/ for more information.
We here at the KUBBL hope everyone has an absolute blast.

Playoff Rundown
KUBBL 5 is coming to a close. Well for three of the eight teams it's over. Two teams are one game away and three teams are two games away. The top two seeds are locked in as the Khorne Red Backs and the Lethal Leap have completed their games and will be 1 and 2 respectively. The Cantina Killers have locked up a playoff spot with one game to go but could be the 3 or 4 seed.
Playoff Contenders for the final spot -
1. The GrymmLurke Lads - The Lads have finished their regular season with 3 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie for a total of 10 points. To get in the Lads need the Swamp Dwellers to lose or tie their final game and the Glade Runners to lose or tie one of their remaining games.
2. Swamp Dwellers - The Dwellers need to win their final game and the Glade Runners to lose or tie one of their remaining games.
3. Glade Runners - The Runners are in if they win their remaining two games. They are the only team that could take away the three seed from the Killers.

Team Spotlight: The Cantina Killers
The Cantina Killers
A lowly bunch of Scum and Villainy. These intergalactic bounty hunters are hunting down all bountied players. Once they can afford their leader Jabba, they will begin placing bounties with all excess cash. The Assassin Crew will foul each and every opportunity. They have one mission, collect on bounties by killing you bunch of Nerf Herders!
- Beaux
The Cantina Killers are the second chaos dwarf team coached by Beaux. The first was the Cantina Killers, see the difference. The original Killers were an incredible team but never won the KUB Bowl even though coach Beaux has the most KUBBL Championships of all coaches. This edition of the Killers has solidified itself as a playoff participant and are hoping to bring another championship to Beaux.

Player Spotlight - Ender Wigans
Anyone that knows anything about this great game knows that the wood elf war dancer is one of, if not the best starting player in the game. They have speed, agility, the ability to stay standing, are killing machines... wait, killing machines? Well at least Wigans is. Ender has played 5 games and has 5 casualties caused. That is quite an impressive mark in and of itself. The fact that makes it more impressive is that 4 of the 5 casualties have been KILLS. Ender has taken his name quite literally. He has been responsible for ending all those lives. Only the most recent of his homicides was apothed successfully.
Wigans has also paced his team in scoring. He is responsible for 7 of the team's 11 touchdowns.

Week 7 - Review
The end of week 7 was supposed to mark the end of KUBBL 5's regular season, however, it didn't. Well for most teams. Three teams have completed their seasons, the Khorne Red Backs, the Lethal Leap and The GrymmLurke Lads. Four games were reported as being played yesterday including two teams playing two games each.
In the early make-up game the R'Backs defeated the Doomsville Robots with a score of 3-0. The very well developed Chaos won the casualty battle as well 8-0. Coach Thorn could only utter one word describing the game, "ow."
The second game of the night for the Red Backs was the GotW with The Cantina Killers. Twenty-nine thousand rabid fans were present to witness the Class of Chaos. This one proved to be an outstanding affair featuring star player, Grahnak Blackhoof. The R'Backs continued their pain-causing play with 6 casualties while only giving up 2. Even though they were thoroughly beaten physically, the Killers had a chance near the games end to take a one points victory. But that chance was thwarted by a successful even strength block on Grashnak resulting in the star being wrestled to the pitch. An extremely well played game ended in a tie.
The Lethal Leap were able to lock-up their playoff spot with a win over the Doomsville Robots and The GrymmLurke Lads put themselves in serious playoff contention with their 2-1 win over the Detroit Devastators.

Game of the Week and Betting - Week 7
Here it is! We have come to the end of another season! Each team has played 6 games... (record screech)...
Yes this really is supposed to be the end of the season, but only three of the eight teams will be playing their final game today.
In this week's Game of the Week, the Khorne Red Backs will play a very "Chaotic" match with The Cantina Killers. The season three R'Backs are built for all aspects of the game and their excess of claw takes away the greatest strength of the Chaos Dwarves. If the Chaos are able to get the early man advantage it could be a blowout. However, the stud bull centaur, Boba Fett, has the ability to runaway from most anyone and they can over-power those who can run with them.
The Red Backs will look to be the KUBBL's next undefeated regular season team if they can get a win in both of their games today.
Betting
Khorne Red Backs are .5 touchdown favorites over The Cantina Killers
Prop: Over/Under 6 casualties for the R'Backs
Lethal Leap are 1 touchdown favorites over the Doomsville Robots
Prop: Over/Under 3 total casualties
Swamp Dwellers are .5 touchdown favorites over Glade Runners.
Prop: Over/Under 6 total touchdowns
The GrymmLurke Lads are 2.5 touchdown favorites over the Detroit Devastators
Prop: Over/Under 4 total touchdowns

Team Spotlight: Detroit Devastators
The Detroit Devastators were formed after the rebuilding of Detroit City in 2025. They transported back in time to play a seminal role as spoilers and malcontents in the KUBBL circa 2013. Denying accusations that they are their own fathers – the Devastators are quite likeable off the pitch.
The Devastators apparently hired a senile, aging, washed up coach in an effort to make other teams lower their guard thinking this team of losers stands no chance. Wink, wink.
Also the best,, auto-inspired, mercenary, well-paid fan club in the league.

*Special thanks to coach T Rex*
Over the past season and a half the Devastators have built themselves up to be quite a good passing team. In the mold of some other human throwers Least Heat Moon has thrown 16 completions in only nine games played.
Though coach T Rex hasn't been in the KUBBL very long he has taken his team to some great heights. The team boast a helicopter, a team bus, dinosaur mascots, modified player appearances, and their own programs to name a few feature other team just don't have. Like other "Little Caesarian" franchises of Detroit, the ownership is willing to put money into their team, to bring the fans back to the thumb.

Player Spotlight - The Professor
Of course the most interesting member of The GrymmLurke Lads is himself a "The". The Professor is the eldest of the Lads' sibling Witches. He had a rough start to his career due to a serious tripping related injury that ended in him sustaining a crack in his already low armor. The Lads are full of players that are well-rounded and The Professor is a standout in this area. Determined to make up for his slow start to the team, the fans, and the family name, The Professor has earned his name by taking his opponents to school.

Week 6 - Review
Only two of the four scheduled games were able to be played on Monday. One of those being the GotW.
In the Game of the Week, the Khorne Red Backs defeated the Swamp Dwellers by a score of 2 - 1.
"Swamp Dwellers brought a pair of ratty looking Bloodweiser Babes and a plague stricken Wizard to the match. The fans turned out in numbers to see this classic match-up of speed versus brutality with the stands just slightly more full of rats and slightly less full of mutants. It was a hot (sweltering) day and many of the Khorne R'Backs fell victim to the heat throughout the game.
First half the kick went to the Khorne R'Backs who quickly gathered the ball and passed it down field and formed a cage. Initial block against the Swamp Dwellers were bone crunching and left many rats in the KO box with the Swamp Dwellers casualty star Fever going down in the first turn to a savage block from Bloodgutter. The Khorne R'Backs spent 7 turns carefully positioning to avoid the rat-powered wizard on the sidelines while hitting rats every chance they could, eventually scoring on Turn 8 of the first half.
Second half the kick went to the Swamp Dwellers who swiftly scooped it up and attempted to run in for a 1 turn TD courtesy of Unleaded. Unfortunately his bloodlust was strong and he went out of his way to throw a block on the way to the end zone, winding up 1 square short from his intended score and deep in enemy territory without assistance. A quick slap from Rotmaggot knocked the ball loose and gave Bitescum the chance to scoop it up and pass it up field to the Khorne R'Backs defensive line. The game plan was the same for the Khorne R'Backs who spent the rest of the half beating and wrestling with rats, sweating wizards, and generally being brutal before scoring on Turn 7 of the second half to go up 2-0.
One last set up for Swamp Dwellers who got a Quick Snap and proceeded to easily walk in with Unleaded for a Turn 8 score to avoid the shut out." -Randroid
The other game feature the Lethal Leap and The GrymmLurke Lads. The Lads definitely came to play with speed and physicality. They absolutely mulled the ill-prepared frogs. Even the one touchdown that the slann scored featured an inaccurate pass that was only caught due to diving catch. The man advantage came early for the Lads and they game was finished with a whooping 5 frogs left on the pitch. The Lads thoroughly demolished the Leap and have made at least one game much harder.

Game of the Week and Betting - Week 6
Week 6, we're almost finished with the regular season! The Game of the Week pits the Swamp Dwellers against the Khorne Red Backs. Player Spotlight - Boba Fett
(stock image)
The clone of a clone. Boba Fett has used his four legs to good use. Boba is hands-down the star and focus of The Cantina Killers. He recently added the block skill to his arsenal and is now even more of a force. The centaur has amassed 8 touchdowns this season and looks to score more in the coming contests. He has supplemented his scoring ability with one deathblow this season. Another edition of the Killers played in previous seasons of the KUBBL and the centaur Boba was cloned from was the star of that team too. Coach Beaux is hoping the clone can bring a KUB Bowl to the team.

Week 5 - Review
Three teams have completed 5 games, four team have completed 4 games and one team has 3 in, so we're moving pretty well.
The GotW featured The GrymmLurke Lads and the Doomsville Robots. The game ended in a 3-1 victory for the Lads. It was a closer game than the score suggested. The Lads' only takeaway score was on a wild and extremely favorable throw-in, while their second drive might have been halted if the Robots' wizard hadn't completely fizzled on 7 targets! Those fireballs can be so unreliable.
- Special thanks to coach Max for the review
The Khorne R'Backs were able to work their way to a 2-1 win over the Glade Runners. The Red Backs managed several KO's before scoring on Turn 8 of the first half. The Runners used their elf agility and speed to quickly score on turn 2 of the half. The Khorne R'Backs fumbled the ball around a bit before smacking down an elf and taking it back with Wobbledog breaking away from the elf bad touch to win the game 2-1.
- Special thanks to coach Randroid for the review
The Cantina Killers and the Swamp Dwellers dueled to a 1-1 tie. The Killers had procession most of the game and were able to keep the one turn scorers of the Dwellers at bay. The Killers were able to use man advantage that they gained throughout the game to keep the game low scoring.
The Lethal Leap were able to take advantage of the Human team's ball handling woes to score a total of 4 defensive touchdowns. The humans achieved proper spacing and ball control to punch the ball into the end zone to finish up a 5-1 victory for the Slann.

Week ? - Review
The GotW from week 2 was completed so here is a rundown by Coach Randroid:
GrymmLurke Lads received the first kick off and got a quick snap. Bitescum makes a two dice two headed cage busting blitz with a reroll but only gets two pushes and two more pushes for his trouble. GrymmLurke Lads score on turn 2.
Khorne R'Backs get the return kick and proceed to drive their meatgrinding bus down the field sending most of the GrymmLurke Lads to the KO box and score on Turn 8 even after coach Max blasts 3 of 5 caged players with a Wizard's fireball.
Khorne R'Backs receive the kick after a perfect defense is rolled but Gorefoul drops the ball on his pass. While the GrymmLurke Lads attempt to pressure the lose ball a few failed dodges and GFI keep them on their backs. After some positioning by coach Max the Khorne R'Backs are able to retrieve the ball and chain push Wobbledog into scoring position with his MV7 and two successful GFI for a two turn Chaos score.
GrymmLurke Lads receives the ball again but quickly loses it due to failed dodges and GFI giving the Khorne R'Backs the opportunity to capitalize on their mistakes. Spittleslash breaks away from the GrymmLurke Lads and manages to run down the clock for the last turn score finishing the game 3-1 for Khorne R'Backs.
The KRB played a second game yesterday and here is Randroid's summary:
Detroit Devastators kicked off to Khorne R'Backs to start the game, feeling confident in their Wizard, tons of rerolls, multiple Apothecaries, and Bloodweiser Babes on the sideline. The kick landed in the corner after nearly bouncing out of bounds but was quickly scooped up by Bitescum for a pass to the Sure Hands of Gorefoul. Caging up the Khorne R'Backs came out of the gates swinging, dealing a few badly hurts right away and immediately knocking several players into the KO box (including rookie Ogre Doc Savage “Titan” ). While waiting as long as they could in an attempt to bait the Detroit Devastators Wizard into attacking the Khorne R'Backs finally scored on turn 7 of the first half to go up 1-0.
Detroit Devastators took the ball back and made a quick pass for SPP before calling it a half.
Khorne R'Backs then kicked to Detroit Devastators who performed a nice hook and ladder play in an attempt to break away from the sheer killing madness the Khorne R'Backs were bringing to bear against them. A drunken Wizard fizzled his spell but this did not dissuade the peppy Stretch Johnson as he made a long pass out of traffic and to his chosen receiver down field. It might have worked too if not for the nimble reflexes of Spittleslash who snatched the ball out of the air as it was sailing to an open Catcher in the Khorne R'Backs backfield. With this the Khorne R'Backs were able to regain control of ball and possession of the pitch, spending round after round trying to tear apart the Detroit Devastators before finally scoring on turn 8 of the second half.
Thanks to Randroid for the coverage.

Team Spotlight: Khorne Red Backs
The Khorne Red Backs use fear and malice to shock their opponents while the often overlooked Beastmen take the ball into the endzone. Coach Randroid has experience controlling the more evil teams as he has coached, Ogre, Vampires, Nurgle, and Chaos Dwarf teams in past KUBBL seasons. The R'Backs have failed to make the playoffs in their first two seasons but have clawed their way into being this season's favorites. You don't need to listen hard for the chants, "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!

Legends of the KUBBL - Flex
Played for the Blitzburg Stealers under coach Tdriscoll
Flex was the first super-star of the KUBBL then the NNUBBL (Nerd Night Ultimate Blood Bowl League). He was the unquestioned leader of the mighty Stealers, the league first and best orc team. He brought two league titles and one Brawl title (former one day tournament) all consecutively. Flex was at his prime for many seasons where he was the KUBBL leader in SPP, until the fateful day that the team missed the bus to the match and half the team decided to call it quits. He held the record for the most SPP in the KUBBL until finally being surpassed by Pikachu in KUBBL II.
Flex now spends his days stealing back all the autographs and memorabilia he ever gave away.

Player Spotlight - Bloodgutter
In the vast expanses of the Chaotic Darkness was spewed forth a terrible beast that is known as Bloodgutter. The whole of the KUBBL has come to fear this raging foe. His unpredictable and wild behavior is only controlled by the efforts of coach Randroid. From time-to-time he is known to go wild and not listen to his coaching. But that fury and rage also leads to Bloodgutter ruthlessly attack his foes, not stopping until blood is spilled. The Red Backs are a ferocious team and the menacing minotaur is the most ferocious of all.

Week 3 Review
Week 3 saw three games be played as the Swamp Dweller defeated the Detroit Devastators, the Glade Runners and Lethal Leap failed to a draw and The Cantina Killers defeated The GrymmLurke Lads.More make-up games are being scheduled and the KUBBL hopes to have all of it's teams back on schedule.
This week's GOTW featured The Cantina Killers and The GrymmLurke Lads. The dark elves were plagued by the condition of the Killers' home pitch. The game didn't feature anything special as far as weather goes but some how the field was in terrible condition. Grounds keeper, X45GK, blamed the conditions on a combination of an invasive alien slugs and the hooves of star Grashnak Blackhoof. Regards of what caused the poor surface the Lads were unable to take advantage of their high agility. It seemed to observers that the elves kept falling down on the easiest of all maneuvers.
The Lads also suffered the loss of star blitzer, Sammervveisen. Witch Elf, Jesstab, was saved by the team apothecary or it could have been doubly as bloody as it was. Each of the centaurs for the Killers were able to score getting them closer to their next level.
Missed games are being scheduled and we are hoping to get caught up shortly.
The current individual leaders are:
TD's - Boba Fett
Comps - Svelte Sue
Casualties - Maim Fist'r
Kills - Endar Wigan

Team Spotlight: The GrymmLurke Lads
The GrymmLurke Lads are the second "Lad" team coached by Max. Coach Max first led The Fancybottom Lads (Wood Elf) in KUBBL 1 but has found a grove leading the stronger Dark Elves. This edition of the Lads fought their way to a fourth place finish in KUBBL 4. GrymmLurke is extremely proud of them and their sneaky strong game. Watch for the Lads to improve on their fourth place finish from last season.

Player Spotlight - Danger Dogl
From the murky sludge of his Blackwater home emerges one of the KUBBL's finest players of all time. He began his journey with the Blackwater Butchers as a lowly skink. But little did anyone know he would develop into a powerhouse stunty scorer. Coach Thorn trust his ball handling and ability to escape to get him out of any situation. The Butchers lean heavily on this player to help them defeat all comers. The Butchers may be taking a break now, but don't be surprised to see Coach Thorn and Danger Dogl leading them back onto the KUBBL pitches to dominate once again.

Game of the Week - Week 2
Many of this weeks games have been delayed. In fact, only one was played as scheduled. However, the Game of the Week is yet to come. The game pits the Khorne Red Backs in their home opener versus The GrymmLurke Lads. The R'backs have began their season with a tie and the Lads with a loss. Each of these returning powers will be looking for their first "W" and the all important 3 league points that come with it. The Lads will try to use their agility to get away from the Chaos, while the followers of Khorne look to sacrifice some elf flesh.
The other matches this week pit the Skaven of the Swamp Dwellers against the Slann of the Lethal Leap. The Detroit Devastators will look to slow down the Glade Runners.
The match that did take place as scheduled saw the Cantina Killers defeat the Doomsville Robots by a score of 2-0.

Team Spotlight: Swamp Dwellers
The Swamp Dwellers have continued the tradition of strong Skaven teams in the KUBBL. The Dwellers finished KUBBL 4 as the second place team. They led the league in scoring with 21 regular season touchdowns and three in the semi-final game with The HIV. Only the KUB Bowl Champion, Blackwater Butchers, were able to hold their potent offense scoreless.
Coach Chris N. has brought the Dwellers back to take the title in KUBBL 5. They got the season started right with a 3-2 victory over The GrymmLurke Lads. Once again they have started this season using their speed and quickness to score 3 touchdowns with their super-speedy gutter runners.

Week 1 Review
The KUBBL 5 season is fully underway! Last evenings games had their fair share of
scoring and carnage.
In the Game of the Week, last season’s runner-up, the Swamp
Dwellers, were able to defeat the dark elves of The GrymmLurke Lads. Rookie rat ogre, Fever, earned his salary by
racking up 2 casualties in his first game.
Unleaded was the offensive threat we’ve all anticipated scoring 2 of the
teams 3 touchdowns. Mr. Zeke scored
twice for the Lads but it wasn’t enough. Dwellers 3 Lads 2
In a game featuring multi-champion coaches with new teams,
the Glade Runners traveled to Doomsville to challenge the Robots. The Robots welcomed the Runners to town by
knocking them off of the pitch in high numbers.
The two teams tied in score at 2 but the Robots took the casualty score
6-1.
A battle between two returning also-rans from last season
met in the jungles of Lethal as the frogs hosted the Khorne Red Backs. The game was highlighted by the squishy sound
of frog armor breaking. The R’Backs
racked up 7 casualties but multiple, multiple stuns. The Frogs were able to
succeed just enough to end the game in a tie, 2 – 2.
In the final game of week 1, the Detroit Devastators took
their show on the road to play the Cantina Killers. The Killers were able to take advantage of a
timely Blitz! to start the ball rolling for them. One bull was enough as the
Killers won 3 – 0.
Coach Beaux was the only player to get his bets in and he
was 1-1 so no one took any bounty money.
Check out current league leaders here.

Opener Already!
The first game of KUBBL 5 has already been played. Summer is often a rough time to get all games in as scheduled. Coaches Beaux and Furry were able to get together last evening to play their match-up which was scheduled for week 3.
The frogs of the Lethal Leap traveled to the Outer Rim to take on the Cantina Killers. This was no game of Pazaak, they were there for some Blood Bowl!
The opening kick was received by the Killers deep in the back field. They were able to get within scoring range but decided to stall since they had a substantial man advantage. However the stalling back-fired and the Leap were able to pop the ball free with an uphill block of the Killers' Bull Centaur ball carrier. The Killers were able to pick-up the thrown in ball with a Chaos Dwarf Lineman who needed to push himself to hand the ball off to another Chaos Dwarf Lineman who, in pushing for the goal, tripped and fumbled the ball into the end zone. The Leap were able to pick the ball up and throw a series of successful events score a coast to coast touchdown on the final turn of the half.
With the score Leap 1 Killers 0, the frogs received the second half kick and scored with relative ease to go up 2-0. At this point the Killers knew they had to score quickly to have any chance of tying the game. Through a series of missteps and follies by both teams, no one was able to do anything until the Killers scored on the final play of the game to end the game at 2-1.
Both the teams will be playing their week one games as scheduled.

Week 1
The "Game of the Week" for week 1 will be between the top two finishers from KUBBL 4. The GrymmLurke Lads will take on the Swamp Dwellers in this match-up of returning powers.

KUBBL 5
KUBBL 5 Season Preview
Eight teams will vie for the KUB Bowl starting July 8th. Here is a breakdown of the eight team..
The runners-up and a bloodthirsty beat stick team are
returning along with last season’s forth placed team, a ragtag bunch from the “D”
and a team of frogs. They will be
welcoming three new teams all coached by past multi-champions.
Swamp Dwellers – Our returning runners-up are the best
finishing returning team. The Dwellers
used their speed and agility to run around and past the competition. There low armor has proved problematic for
them in the past but they hope the added fury of rookie rat ogre, Fever, will
lead them back to prominence in the new season.
Key Player: Unleaded,
Gutter Runner
Khorne Red Back – The R’backs lost out on the casualty race
last season by 1, this season is theirs for the taking. The KUBBL has seen its fair share of Chaos
teams but none like this season’s. Three
of their four Warriors begin this season with the amazing combination of block,
mighty blow, and claw. Don’t feel sorry
for the fourth, he has block and mighty blow!
Key Player: Bloodgutter,
Minotaur
The GrymmLurke Lads – The Lads were KUBBL 4’s fourth place
finishers. Very skilled Dark Elf teams
are frightening to play against. Their combination
of ball movement with unusual amounts of well placed carnage is a staple of the
Lads’ game.
Key Player: Sammervveisen,
DetroitDevastators – Last season ended short for the Devastators. They were well on their way to a solid finish
for new coach T Rex. The Humans look to
get to their first ever KUB playoffs.
Key Player: LeastHeat Moon, Thrower
Lethal Leap – The frogs are returning for the organizations
third season but this iterations’ second.
The Leap started out last season poorly but came around for a
respectable 6th place finish.
Doomsville Robots – This Pact team comes into the season as
a blank slate. The best news for them is
that they were able to secure the services of three-time KUBBL Championship
coach, Thorn.
Key Player: S3M1N11 Destructobot,
The Cantina Killers – Coach Beaux will once again take the
reins of this Chaos Dwarf powerhouse organization. The team has been completely rebuilt for
season 5. If past success is any
indication the Killers will perform very well.
Key Player: BobaFett, Bullcentaur
Glade Runners – Wood Elves make their way back into
KUBBL. With the experience of coach
Tdriscoll they will be a formidable team in the league. The style this team plays with is an unknown
and the Runners want the rest of the KUBBL to fear the unknown.
Key Player: Ender Wigan , Wardancer
See you in season 5!

CHAMPIONS CROWNED!
The KUBBL crowned their champion for KUBBL 4! It is the lizardmen of the Blackwater Butchers!
The Butcher are saying goodbye to their long time coach, Thorn. He will be taking over the reins of the Doomsville Robots.
The 11th championship game started out in good
weather and the first half was hotly contested.
The Butchers received the opening kick and spent all eight turns winding
their way down the pitch. The Dwellers
did all they could to stop the lizards, knocking the ball free more than
once. In the end of the half the Butchers
took the lead. They went into the half
at 1-0.
The second half saw the Butchers put their strength to
use. The Dweller began flying off the
pitch and the stand firm Saurus kept the speed and agility of the rats at bay. To make matters worse for the rats, the skies
opened up on them.
The player of the game was Sharptooth. He literally threw his weight around earning
four casualties in the final. DangerDogl was again an offensive force for the Butchers too.
Check-out the box score here.

Championship Monday!
KUBBL 4
Today's the day! The powerhouse Blackwater Butchers will be hosting the upstart Swamp Dwellers. In the battle for the KUB Bowl it will be the strength of the lizards against the speed of the rats.
The Butchers will look to the blitzing prowess of casualty leader, Sharptooth to slowdown scoring leader, Unleaded. The twist is the new found speed of Diesel may through a curveball at the boys from Blackwater. But can the Dwellers keep up with the attrition minded Butchers with only 11 total players.
These two teams have yet to play each other so neither can draw on past experience. Will this be KUBBL Title three for coach Thorn (Pondscum Chompers, Maynooth Gits) or the first for Chris N.?

KUBBL 4 – Season Wrap-up
KUBBL 4 – Season Wrap-up
The season opened with a twelve team league. Two divisions of 6 set forth to do battle on
the KUBBL pitch. The Block Division was
home to the six teams with the highest team value while the Dodge Division
housed the lowest 6 team values.
Week 1 – 5 went relativey smoothly but some personal issues
caused 5 of the 12 teams not to be able to complete their seasons. The 7 were able to complete the seven game schedules
and the top four went on to the KUBBL 4 Playoffs. The bottom 3 went into a post-season round
robin tournament.
The Block Division was won by The HIV with a record of 6
wins and 1 tie. The Dodge Division was
won by The GrymmLurke Lads with a record of 5 wins, 1 tie, and 1 Loss. Each league had one wildcard representative
with the Blackwater Butchers (5-1-1) representing Block and the Swamp Dwellers
(5-2) representing Dodge.
The HIV – The Nurgle had a great showing in this season’s
KUBBL. They were The Wall Award winners
allowing only 3 regular season touchdowns.
They were coached by Beaux who had won the previous 3 KUBBL seasons with
3 different teams. Unfortunately for The
HIV it looks as though their coach will be moving on in KUBBL 5.
The GrymmLurke Lads – The Dark Elves had a whale of a
season. Their high agility combined with
some timely heavy hitting made them the toast of the Dodge Division. The Lads had no standout players but were
extremely versatile and well balanced.
This was only coach Max’s second season but his second post season appearance.
Blackwater Butchers – The Lizardmen didn’t earn the top seed
in their division but used their combination of power and speed to defeat the
Lads to earn a spot in the KUB Bowl. The
teamed earned their third Juggernaut Banner in a row! They’ve took home second and third places but
look to win the championship for their long time coach, Thorn.
Swamp Dwellers – The newest Skaven team to “excel” in the
KUBBL is the other team in this season’s KUB Bowl. The rats were the number one offensive team this
season with 21 touchdowns which gave then KUBBL 4’s Scoring Machine
banner. “Fueled” by two one turn scoring
threats, the Dweller’s hope to run away with the title.
The date for the KUB Bowl is TBD.
Legends of KUBBL - Pikachu
Pikachu
Played for The Ratkateers under Coach Beaux
Led multiple TD titles in his reign as defensive specialist for The Ratkateers. Was feared by all players because of his amazing ability to get into any space and steal the ball no matter how well protected you thought you were. Held the KUBBL record for most touchdowns for many seasons. Led the Rats to a KUBBL II championship. Left the KUBBL after the player strike and the choice to move to cheaper players. This player is the league's career scoring leader.

Legends of KUBBL - Bill "The Butcher"
Bill "The Butcher" - from the notes of coach Thorn
"Ears and Noses will be the trophies of the day."
Bill is a crafty Skaven Blitzer, he has always played for the Gits and will do so "until I die", is what he is always heard saying. He enjoys the very little things in life but mainly blood and carnage. The team turns to him as their captain because he is the scariest and the most intimidating of all the Irish members of the Gits. He isn't afraid to scrap with anyone at anytime. Raised as an orphan he learned quickly that if he wanted anything he had to get it himself, he has used those tactics his entire life.
Bill is also a butcher in Maynooth during the Blood Bowl off season. The question is whether he got his name because of that or because he is a butcher on the field of play.
Could never fully leave the KUBBL, is now a BBPN on and off analyst and also owns a butcher shop, Bill's Butching right around the corner from the KUBBL stadium complex.

Gits Fix! write up
Gits Fix! - The Butcher
Hello Gits fans!, this is Patches O'Houlihan and I'm here to give you a very special article about Bill "The Butcher" © , after his amazing outing against Team Venture where he scored a whopping 5 casualties against a strong brutal team bill has continued to solidify his name in the KUBBL History books.
"I have never coached a more dominant player on the pitch, he come out to play every single match and the day he retires will be a sad day for all KUBBL and Blood Bowl fans alike." - Coach Thorn (Maynooth Gits Coach)
The up and coming Blitzer of Team Venture, Action Man who has shown the most potential as being a dominant killer in KUBBL behind Bill "The Butcher" © was beaten by Bill in a head to head match that was listed as one of the Top Matches of KUBBL IV, leaving the pitch with a busted collar bone, and then after getting that patched up ended up with a broken ankle leaving him with a -MA for the rest of his career.
"That Bloke was tough as nails, fortunately for me my claws can go through nails just as easily as flesh." - Bill "The Butcher" ©
It was a match for the ages KUBBL fans, and now without further jabber, I have a small history on Bill the Butcher and what he was and what he has become, Enjoy...
The bastard runt of a litter of scavenging underworld rats, Bill quickly learned how to be scrappier and meaner then anyone else in the family. "when you grow up in a rat family, especially an underworld family it is survival of the fittest, and I wasn't about to go down without a fight no matter what size I was."
Bill quickly learned that there were no limits to the pain you can bestow on someone. Ripping out their ears, gouging eyes, clawing open a nut sack, even spitting in someones face to get a quick jab or stab before they could react. He was quickly scouted by a Blood Bowl analyst and thrown onto a team of losers,
"I really felt that he would spice up the competition, everyone goes to these games to watch the savvy human team The Black Bay Boxers dodge and weave their way to victory as the small goblins and festering rats stumble all over each other or even kill each other." -Vick Undercarriage (KUBBL reporter, Blood Bowl Analyst)
Little did they know what would really come of the Runt that was once known as Billy the Runt. In the first match up of the once low on the totem pole Maynooth Gits versus the Black Bay Boxers Bill started the match by poking the eyeball out of the star blitzer of the team Horace Kachunk, a massive blood trail and screaming later he could never play another match of blood bowl again. That didn't stop him either, on his second turn he knocked the head clear off a catcher attempting to get past the line into the Gits zone, Bill wasn't having any of that.
At the end of the match the score was 1 - 0 the Black Bay Boxers with the win, but the casualty total was 1 - 10 with Bill scoring 11 casualties 3 of which were kills, and one went to the Boxers because Bill was annoyed with the Goblins who couldn't score with the ball and killed him. After that day he was given the name of Bill "The Butcher" © and the team was turned into a real team that real fans wanted to come and watch the carnage.
It took the Gits a long time to actually learn to play the ball and a lot of goblins, Bill would gladly kill the ones that were "monkeys Effing a football" as he would so politely put it and replace them with new goblins to prove their worth. Bill has definitely come a long way from being the runt of the litter, to being one of the most feared players on the pitch. Not many people play against him lightly and if they do, they have learned to pay!
