Dog Bowl IV Primer and History

The KUBBL presents the fourth version of the Dog Bowl on March 19th at the Marmalade Dog convention in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  The tournament has grown over the years to be the showcase for the "Underdog" races of Blood Bowl.  The last two editions have been won by the mutated powers of the Frozen Flames, a powerful chaos pact team coached by the host of the Siggy Llama Show.

The Dog Bowl was born out the remnants of the Special "K" Cup.  A twice held tournament where the coaches of the KUBBL were playing with ideas to create a tournament series with its own flavor. Those tournaments along with the first Dog Bowl all had different rule sets but they still saw the same races winning.  A significant change was made beginning with Dog Bowl II.  The tournament organizer felt that the tournament needed to set itself apart from other Blood Bowl events and the best way to try and do that was to "stack the deck" in the favor of those... less talented teams.

Dog Bowl III - Wrap-up

Dog Bowl III is in the books and once again the Frozen Flames took down the title!  It was a day of Halfling murdering the competition, Snotlings flying through the air on their way to the end zone, and a veteran Chaos Pact team flexing some muscle.  A crazy mix of underdog teams and some big boys duked it out in three rounds of total action.

Siggyllama again lead his Flames to a Dog Bowl Title.  The only coach to take home a second place finish at any Dog Bowl did it again.  It has been suggested 2^nd place be called the Butt-Sniffer Award, I think we should let Delevus decide that.  After all it seems he owns the award.  Ending Flyingdingle’s two year reign as the top scorer, The Greyhound this year went to BigStrayCat and his touchdown happy Ogre team.  The Junkyard Dog of this year where the foul happy Halflings lead by Valdric.  Fejwe took home the Hind Dog Award this year.

CHAMPIONS CROWNED!

The KUBBL crowned their champion for KUBBL 4!  It is the lizardmen of the Blackwater Butchers! 

The 11^th championship game started out in good weather and the first half was hotly contested.  The Butchers received the opening kick and spent all eight turns winding their way down the pitch.  The Dwellers did all they could to stop the lizards, knocking the ball free more than once.  In the end of the half the Butchers took the lead.  They went into the half at 1-0.

The second half saw the Butchers put their strength to use.  The Dweller began flying off the pitch and the stand firm Saurus kept the speed and agility of the rats at bay.  To make matters worse for the rats, the skies opened up on them.

The player of the game was Sharptooth.  He literally threw his weight around earning four casualties in the final.  DangerDogl was again an offensive force for the Butchers too.

The Butcher are saying goodbye to their long time coach, Thorn.  He will be taking over the reins of the Doomsville Robots.

Better Late Than Never...

Kalamazoo Ultimate Blood Bowl League (KUBBL) is about to wrap-up KUBBL 4 (it's 11th completed season).  The championship match is set for June 24th and will pit the Lizardmen of the Blackwater Butchers against the Skaven of the Swamp Dwellers.  Coach Thorn of the Butchers is going for his 3rd title while coach Chris N will be attempting to win his 1st ever KUBBL Championship.
